JKK's Week 3 Picks

Enough football commentary. Regardless of how the game goes, fans can always check out the USC Song Girls.

Game of the Week

#5 Ohio State @ #1 USC
Pick: Ohio State +11.5
There isn't anything I can say that has not already been said about this game. Bottom line, Ohio State is #5 for a reason and I can't see them being blown out. Sorry to bust TheCouchQB's bank account, but I think USC wins by a touchdown 20-13.

Week 2 Review - Notre Dame Still Sucks

Anyone expecting something different from Notre Dame this season from last season can take nothing positive from ND's 21-13 win over San Diego State. I sure didn't. If the talent is there, why does the team suck so much? The answer: Charlie Weiss is a terrible coach. His best season where he got that 10 year contract came from a team led by Brady Quinn, who was recruited by current Washington head coach Tyrone Willingham. If ND does not make a bowl this season, but they just might due to their underwhelming schedule, look for Notre Dame to be forced to buy out the last 8 years of Weiss' contract.

Mailbag: Week 1 Oberservations

This submission comes to us written by JokeKillerKiller:

Week one of college football where the best games are few and far between. The real winners are the cupcake teams from the smaller conferences or Division I-AA that get paid to come in and lose to a larger program. Who wants to see Oklahoma crush Chattanooga by 55 or Penn State crush Coastal Carolina by 56. But if you are the program that brings in a team you are supposed to beat and then look bad, then shame on you.

I'm talking to you Michigan, Virginia Tech, Pitt, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and North Carolina. Michigan gets embarrassed at home (AGAIN) by Utah. Virginia Tech loses the battle of "Beamer Ball" and loses to East Carolina. The supposed comeback of Pitt is stopped before it can even start by Bowling Green. Former Packers coach Mike Sherman wishes he were still in the NFL and not losing A&M's opener to Arkansas State and Arkansas and North Carolina are forced to make fourth quarter comebacks to Western Illinois and McNeese State respectively.

Weekly Opinions

Jim Moore, SeattlePI: Cougar columnist Jim Moore goes undercover to Tyrone Willingham's news conference, is put to sleep.

Michael Hunt, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Criticizes Wisconsin for backing out of a game with Virginia Tech in order to play Cal Poly, just so they can guarantee a win on senior day.

Stewart Mandel, CNNSI.com: - Stewart Mandel is back and the self-proclaimed college football expert ranks his top 25 teams with much fanfare to start off the season. Of course, it looks pretty much just like everybody else's top 25 list.

Ron Cook, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Conspiracy theories abound! Cook makes the case that Penn State secretly wants to have a shitty football season so as to make it easier to oust Joe Paterno.
